In recent three years, Vietnam’s export turnover of computers, electronic products and components have been always recording year-on-year good growth, from $2.76 billion in 2009 to $4.46 billion in 2011, growing over 30 percent from 2010.
In the first seven months of this year, the country’s export turnover for these products reaped $4.03 billion, rising 83.6 percent in value from the same period last year.
In July alone, the figure was $651 million, up 89.3 percent year-on-year.
In the past seven months, China has been always the biggest buyer of these products with $1.03 billion, rising 2.3 times, and followed by the EU with $681 million (up 91 percent year-on-year), the US at $489 million, up 67.1%, Malaysia with $405 million, up 10 times year-on-year.
Regarding the export turnover growth, Malaysia reached the highest growth with 947.11%, Nigeria (up 848.89%), South Africa (407.08%) and Russia (316.78%). Only 6/37 markets saw fall in export turnover over the same period last year.
As reported by the US Consumer Electronics Association, the demand for computers, electronic products and components in the world is continuing to grow in recent years with the growth rate of 8-10%/year. These are favourable conditions for enterprises in this sector. It is expected that by the end of 2012, the exports of electronics products in general may reach $15-16 billion.
