B. Braun expands pharmaceutical facility in Malaysia

 B. Braun, a leading global healthcare supplier, will invest an additional RM250 million to expand its pharmaceutical plant at the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, Penang.

Speaking at the ground breaking of the plant yesterday, officiated by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamad, B Braun supervisory board chairman, Prof Datuk Dr Ludwig Georg Braun said the new plant, which is expected to be ready in 2016, would make new formulations of sterile infusion solutions as well as increase its production capacity to meet rising demand from the domestic and regional markets.

With the additional investment, the German company’s total investment in Malaysia since 2010 under B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. has reached RM2 billion.

Also present at the event were the President of B. Braun Asia-Pacific, Mrs. Anna Maria Braun, and Senior Vice-President- Operations & Head CoE- Intravenous Access, Dr. Juergen Schloesser.
