China's CSR signs MoA with Malaysian government

China's largest train-maker, CSR ZhuZhou, has signed an Memorandum of Arrangement (MoA) with the Malaysian government to encourage and promote technical co-operation in railway engineering and technology.

The MoA marks CSR's continued commitment to developing its rolling stock manufacturing operations in Malaysia to serve the region.

The Chinese train-makers are in the process of clearing some regulatory hurdles before they commence the construction of the RM400 million, 50 acre plant in Batu Gajah, Ipoh that will service Asean.

"I am delighted that out of all the countries in this region,Malaysia has been chosen as the first CSR Rail Center outside China," said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who witnessed the signing.

Transport minister, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha as well as the chinese ambassador, Chai Xi also attended the ceremony.
